FucoSorb™ is the most absorbable Fucoidan

Digestive-System-Diaphragm-1pprbloRecent evidence has concluded that fucoidan molecules adsorb at low rates within the body. Although, fucoidan still has an effect on the body, even at these low levels in the blood, increasing the absorption amount would increase the effectiveness of the fucoidan.

The technique employed to increase absorption of the fucoidan is by using materials that have shown function as bioenhancers.  Bioenhancers are substances that help to increase the bioavailability and bioefficacy of the fucoidan. Increased bioavailabiity means increased levels of the fucoidan in the blood stream that are available for absorption. Increased bioefficacy means an increased effect of the supplement due to increased bioavailability.

FucoSorb™ is a blend of the absolute best bioenhancers, based on scientific evidence, providing the utmost absorption in a fucoidan product.

We know it is not enough to provide the best blend of fucoidan on the market if it is not able to be absorbed within your body, our aim was to do both… mission accomplished and FucoSorb™ is the result.

Purification

The extract is purified (standardized) for no more than 45-50% fucoidan. This is a critical part of the process where many manufactures go wrong, because any over-purification (over-standardization) of the extract results in the “chopping up” of the bioactive polymers and less effective fucoidan compounds. Likewise, any under-purification (under-standardization) results in less effective products. As the graph above illustrates, it’s all about finding that critical “sweet spot”!

Extraction

The unique FucoSorb™ extraction process has been specifically designed to extract fucoidan from brown seaweed without the use of solvents. This unique extraction process  ensures the chemical constituent of the fucoidan molecule remain unaltered and equivalent as in their natural state. The purification step in the  FucoSorb™ process eliminates contaminants such as salts and remaining alginate impurities from the product.  This eliminates the numerous purification steps used in the extraction methods used by competitors, including disinfecting steps (hypochlorite and irradiation). The QA method for analysingfucoidan polymers to determine purity has been developed and validated for  FucoSorb™ by the Complex Carbohydrate Research Centre at the University of Georgia (US).The  FucoSorb™ extraction process is controlled using an ISO9001 and HACCP accredited quality-management system.   FucoSorb™ complies with Organic, Kosher and Halalquality requirements.

hand harvestedHarvesting

Due to the delicate nature of fucoidan’s bioactives, extreme care in its handling.  That is why the seaweed used to make the fucoidan in FucoSorb is hand-harvested from a clean and sustainable environment in the Atlantic.

Micronization is the process of reducing the average diameter of a solid material's particles. Usually, the term micronization is used when the particles that are produced are only a few micrometers in diameter. The specification of our super-fine micronized fucoidan powder is  greater than or equal to 80% less than 300 microns, a significant portion of which is less than 100 microns.

Why FucoSorb™ Uses Wakame Seaweed?

The powers of the Wakame seaweed have been drawn upon for centuries by the Japanese culture because of its promise to prolong life, prevent disease and impact beauty and health. Wakame has been the most studied, has shown the best results and has been found to be the most beneficial source of fucoidan extract.  Due to Wakame’s highly studied health benefits, the makers of FucoSorb use 100% pure organic Wakame seaweed in their product.

Iodine Content

Fucoidan extract is derived from brown seaweed, which is naturally very high in iodine.  Although fucoidan extract has much less iodine than the seaweed itself, there is still a significant amount of iodine.  Most people are entirely unaffected by this amount of iodine, some people even benefit from such a dosage due to its stimulation of the thyroid, others are susceptible to side effects from iodine overdose.  If you have hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) you should not take FucoSorb™ or any other fucoidan extract. On the other hand, people with hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) can actually benefit from the iodine content and will in fact improve their overall thyroid function by taking FucoSorb™.

Sodium Content in FucoSorb™

The amount of sodium in the wakame seaweed (Undaria pinnatifida) extract used to make FucoSorb is approximately 3.5%. Each FucoSorb capsule contains 400mg of Undaria Pinnatifida extract. This means you get about 14 mg of sodium per capsule. Keeping in mind that the RDA (recommended daily allowance) of sodium is 2,400 mg, 14 mg is a mere drop in the bucket.
